Description

ActionAid Ethiopia (AAE) has been chosen under the African-led movement to work towards acceleration of positive change in social attitudes towards ending FGM/C in Amhara region Guna and Farta Woredas.

This is an Invitation for Bid (IFB) from ActionAid Ethiopia (AAE), a gender justice and poverty eradication organization, seeking a media/production company to produce a documentary film on the TGG-ALM (Africa-led movement to end FGM/C) program in Ethiopia.

📌 Project Context and Objective

 

Detail Description
Program Focus TGG-ALM FGM Programme (Support to the Africa-led movement to end FGM/C).
Implementation Area Amhara Regional State, South Gondar zone (Guna Begemidir and Farta woredas) since 2022.
Overall Objective To document and showcase the achievements, lessons learned, and overall impact of the program in Ethiopia, serving as a tool for advocacy and knowledge-sharing.

 

📅 Indicative Timetable

 

The project is expected to be executed within approximately one month, concluding before the project closure in early 2026.

Recruitment & Agreement November 17 – 22, 2025
Desk review November 23 – 25, 2025
Script development and approval November 25 – 30, 2025
Field filming November 30 – December 15, 2025 (Consultant manages logistics)
Editing & draft submission December 20, 2025
Review & final delivery December 25, 2025

 

✅ Application Requirements

 

The media/production company must demonstrate the following requirements:

 

I. Technical & Experience

 

  • Experience: Proven experience in producing documentary films, preferably in the development or social impact sector.
  • Quality: Ability to deliver high-quality video storytelling (scripting, filming, editing, subtitling).
  • Capacity: Capability to include graphics, data visualization, and English subtitles for Amharic interviews.
  • Sector Work: Experience working with CSOs and INGOs.
  • Logistics: Ability to travel to the Amhara Region (Guna Begemidir and Farta woredas) with own logistics coverage.
  • Compliance: Capacity to meet the specified timeline and quality standards.

 

II. Legal Documents

 

  • Legally required documents:
    • Renewed license
    • TIN certificate
    • VAT registration
    • Credentials

 

📝 Submission Details

 

  • Submission Deadline: The 10th day from the first day of this announcement in Reporter newspaper and Ethiojobs on or before 2:00 PM (Bid closing time). (Please calculate the exact date based on the publication date, which was around Nov 7th/8th 2025)
  • Required Documents:
    1. CV and Application Letter.
    2. Complete set of Technical Documents (Original and Copy).
    3. Complete set of Financial Documents (Original and Copy).
  • Packaging: All proposals must be submitted in a separately sealed envelope (Technical and Financial).
  • Policy Compliance (Winner): The successful bidder is required to comply with ActionAid’s SHEA and Safeguarding Policies upon contract agreement. Failure to comply will result in automatic cancellation of the award.
