Project Context and Objectives

Core Need	Upgrading infrastructure to support the transition from fuel-based systems to electric-powered operations.
Existing Capacity Issue	Total installed capacity of 4,000 kVA is reduced to 2,500 kVA due to switchgear malfunction and one out-of-service transformer.
Planned Load Additions	770 kW (including pool heat pumps, electric hot water boilers, and laundry system electrification).
New Total Power	Approximately 1.87 MW (Projected total load).
Goal of New System	To install a 15KV Dual Input Switchgear (Ring Feed Switchgear) and a Generator Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS).
Project Objectives	1. Operational Resilience: Ensure reliable power during outages/maintenance. 2. Load Management: Accommodate the additional 770 kW load. 3. Safety and Efficiency: Enhance reliability and prevent system failures.

Scope of Work (Key Deliverables)

Phase	Tasks
Assessment & Planning	Review existing transformers, switchgear, and distribution panels. Assess integration of new switchgear and ATS. Identify optimal locations.
Procurement & Installation	Installation of: 15KV Dual Input Switchgear with one 15KV output (already procured). Generator ATS (already procured). Repair of the damaged transformer. Complete all necessary civil works.
Testing & Commissioning	Functional testing of installed equipment. Simulate power outages to verify reliability. Calibrate the system to meet increased load requirements.
Training & Documentation	Provide training to the Sheraton Addis engineering team. Deliver comprehensive documentation (as-built drawings, manuals, maintenance schedules).
Ongoing Support	Provide post-installation technical support, including periodic inspections and preventive maintenance, during the warranty period.
